Last week, fifteen CENU high school students traveled to New York City, accompanied by members of our academic team, to represent our school at the National High School Model United Nations—one of the most prestigious international student conferences.

Over the course of three intensive days, our students participated in debate committees alongside peers from more than 70 countries, engaging with global issues, negotiating perspectives, and demonstrating the strength of our academic community.
Beyond the travel experience, this opportunity allowed them to develop essential skills: researching, analyzing, listening, and presenting well-founded arguments with clarity and confidence. Watching them speak, defend their ideas, and hold their ground in such a demanding international setting was, without a doubt, one of the most meaningful parts of the experience. This is learning at its best.
The experience extended well beyond the conference sessions. New York itself became an extension of the classroom—and a city we made the most of.
We walked—a lot—exploring the city from every angle. We were inspired by the collections at the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art; explored the American Museum of Natural History; and spent time in remarkable spaces like the New York Public Library and the Morgan Library & Museum, each with its own story to tell.
Our routes took us through iconic landmarks such as St. Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, and Central Park, where we also found moments to pause and take it all in. We walked along Fifth Avenue, stopped by the Flatiron Building, and made our way to Chelsea Market. From Grand Central Terminal, we continued down to Battery Park, with views of the Statue of Liberty, and wrapped up at Wall Street in front of the iconic Charging Bull.
We returned tired—very much so—but with new ideas, meaningful connections, and a broader understanding of the world.
Congratulations to our 15 delegates for representing CENU with such a high level of commitment and excellence. 🗽✨
