Our 7th grade students at Centro Educativo Naciones Unidas presented a poetry recital as part of their Spanish class, sharing original pieces with classmates, teachers, and families.
More than just an assignment, the recital became a space for genuine expression. Through their writing, students explored topics that matter to them—social media, the environment, mental health, self-esteem, and broader social issues—offering their perspectives with honesty and clarity.
The project was developed over several weeks in the classroom, combining reading, analysis, and writing. The final presentation also allowed students to build confidence, strengthen their communication skills, and experience what it means to present their ideas in front of an audience.

Each piece reflected not only creativity, but also thoughtful observation and critical thinking. Rather than repeating ideas, students developed their own voices and shared them with authenticity and respect.
We thank the families who joined us for this event and recognize the work of Ms. Fernanda, who guided the project and supported students throughout the process.
At CENU, experiences like this are part of a learning approach that goes beyond content—helping students develop their voice and use it with purpose.
