In late January, Centro Educativo Naciones Unidas welcomed The Virginia Gentlemen, a vocal ensemble composed of students from the University of Virginia, who offered a series of performances for our elementary, middle school, and high school students.

This visit was made possible thanks to the initiative of Mariana Pitta, a parent and active member of the Parent Association, whose dedication helped bring this special experience to our school community.

The concerts took place in the Joaquín Eguía Lis Library, which for a few hours was transformed into a stage for a cappella music. The repertoire was thoughtfully tailored to each grade level, allowing every group of students to experience the performance in an age-appropriate way.

From the very first notes, the room filled with attentive silence and anticipation. For many students, it was striking to realize that every sound came solely from the human voice. Younger children listened in awe, while older students appreciated the complexity of the harmonies and the group’s vibrant energy.

At the end of each performance, several students approached the singers for autographs and photos, extending a moment that had clearly left a lasting impression.

As a token of gratitude, the school presented the ensemble members with certificates of recognition, honoring their talent and the generosity with which they shared their music.

The Virginia Gentlemen’s visit was a meaningful experience that enriched school life and remains a special memory for our students.
